Woo-hoo -- I did it! I got a blog. I don't consider myself technically challenged, but there has been a lot of new technology in the past 25 years that my generation never learned. When I learned to type it was on a Selectric II typewriter. You had to figure out the center point of your paper, you used actual carbon paper for "cc's", and if you made a mistake you had to correct with tape or an eraser. I did okay in college learning on the computer. Of course it was DOS commands not windows. The year after I graduated windows became the big thing. I fought it as long and as hard as I could. I could ONLY use the computer if it was set for DOS commands, not if I had to use the mouse. I eventually learned the windows system and can't even imagine what I was thinking -- wanting to use DOS. Windows is soooo much easier. The next change was the Palm Pilot. Up until about 2003/2004 my boss only used a paper calendar. You know the kind -- the "wire bound, vinyl cover you can buy anywhere". Then he announced that he was going to use a Palm Pilot. Gasp! No! I was perfectly content writing in the calendar all our appointments, hearings, etc. Of course he was one of only a few in our office without one. I learned to love that little gadget too. Now its the BLOG ! I am what my sister (and others) refer to as a "blog stalker." I love to read other people's blogs (usually its people I know either personally or through my sisters). Other people have such interesting lives and young children which help to make it that way. I on the other hand have a rather boring and dull life -- not much to write about here. Lets see, hum -- My child is 18 (nothing cute there)-- I'm mad at my husband and/or family --no one wants to hear about that even though I find it interesting and sometimes funny to read it on other's blogs -- it makes me feel NORMAL.) Oh well -- I may surprise myself with what I find to write about. I guess you could say this is the closest thing to writing in journal. I have been following the blogs of both my sisters and my sister-in-law and finally decided I would give it a try. I love reading theirs -- in fact, I go to them everyday just to see if there are any new updates. They also have some cute pages and I like that. Even though I live very close to both my sisters, if it wasn't for blogs, I wouldn't know about some of the things that happen in their lives. I don't know how often I will write -- maybe once in a blue moon, but I will give this new technology a try.
Welcome to blogland. I feel the exact same way...what do I have that is interesting to blog about?
